He has been involved in $2.7 million worth of research funding (or development contracts) from NASA, Federal Highway, NSF, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, SME, IDCCA, ICCI, two Formula One companies (Toyota F1 and Renault F1), GM, Hoover, Tyco Healthcare and Caterpillar. He has published over 100 technical papers and advised numerous MS and Ph.D. students. He serves on many national committees and boards including being the past-Chair of the ASME DSCD Intelligent Systems Panel (now a technical committee). He is an acknowledged expert in his area of research (intelligent systems, smart devices, modern instrumentation and biomedical devices) and has often been invited by various national and international organizations and industries to give technical seminars all over the world. | Dr. Sumeer LalVice President | Dr. Lal is a Neurosurgeon, and presently practices in South Carolina. As a neurosurgeon, sub specializing in neuro-oncology, he has written and coauthored several book chapters and scientific papers. He did his fellowship at the world renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He has also been involved in teaching medical students and residents in the field of neurosciences at multiple universities. He has recently been listed as a top 100 surgeon in the US, and is often consulted by large biomedical companies for his expertise and advice on new medical devices in the field of neurosurgery. | Dr. Brad SchwartzSecretary | Dr. Schwartz is a practicing urologist in Springfield, Illinois, and is the Director of the Center for Laparoscopy and Endourology at SIU School of Medicine. He is actively involved in clinical urology specializing in stone disease and minimally invasive surgery. Additionally, he is actively engaged in research, securing more than $500 K in grants over 10 years. He is regularly sought after by biomedical companies to give seminars as well as provide advice for product development. He has 50 original scientific publications, over 100 national and international presentations and abstracts, and numerous videos and textbook chapters. He sits on several local, regional and national committees and is active in the community in education and health matters. He is in charge of all animal protocols and FDA related matters at his work place. | Dr. Tsuchin Philip ChuTreasurer | Dr. Chu has a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina, and has been in academia for 25 years. He has a wealth of experience in digital image correlation, non-destructive evaluation (NDE), transient thermography, experimental mechanics, composite materials, fracture mechanics, image analysis, as well as computer-aided design (CAD) and finite element analysis (FEA). He has been a PI/Co-PI in more than $1.2 million worth of research funding from NASA, US Air Force, IBM, ICCI and Boeing. | Dr. Jayant Nath | Dr. Nath is a practicing cardiologist in Kansas City, Kansas. He has been a clinical assistant professor at Stanford University and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and has been involved in teaching medical students, residents and cardiology fellows. He is board certified by the American Board of Echocardiography and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has also received level III training at the University of California, San Francisco. He has presented several abstracts at American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association conferences as well as written multiple manuscripts in numerous medical journals. |
